Licensed . . .  or . . . Certified

Since 2008 Maryland has required all Home Inspectors to be licensed by the state.  This requires successful completion of a  minimum number of mandatory classroom hours followed by a satisfactory score on the National Home Inspector Examination.

Licensing reflects a bare minimum compliance with a state regulated basic level of achievment and may not insure the level of proficiency you expect for your Home Inspection.

Certification is a voluntary association with  a nationally recognized organization for the purpose of demonstrating a higher standard of ethics, continueing education and professional enhancement.  Because participation is entirely voluntary, membership indicates a commitment to maintain a higher level of performance.

Independent Home Inspection is proud to be both licensed as required and a Certified member in good standing of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI).

I have over 30 years experience in the mechanical trades, HVAC, and Electrical.  I know what makes your house work and how to keep it that way.
